Spiral House Park is a 45-acre art and nature sanctuary here in Saugerties. For four decades, the late artist Tom Gottsleben and his wife, Patty Livingston, transformed this abandoned bluestone quarry into a place of magical beauty — a varied landscape of native gardens and fields filled with more than 50 of Gottsleben’s stone and crystal glass sculptures, the largest of which is a five-story spiral house. Woodland trails, bedrock geology, and a backdrop of stunning Catskill Mountain views add to the experience the property offers. In 2025, this 45-acre park opened for the public to enjoy.
Through hands-on workshops, guided walks, exhibitions, and outdoor activities, Spiral House Park aims to inspire creativity, curiosity, and a deeper connection to the web of life. Designed for all ages, their programs encourage exploration, learning, and the joy of discovery celebrating both the arts and the natural world.
